Color-Fields / 2005 – 2012

Inspired by the 1960s, when following the lead of Color-Field painters like Morris Louis and Frank Stella, Robert Walker was producing geometric paintings. In recent years he has been photographing flowers with a comparable feeling for abstraction. But don’t be fooled, he warns, this is not attempt to give photography the illusion of painting. It is an attempt to break free of Photography’s objective and recording function, to be able to take a fresh look at an often cliché subject.
